These are my personal top 76 singles of those that peaked on the Billboard charts in 1976.  The list is solely my opinion.  Using Joel Whitburn's book, Pop Annual 1955-1999, I started with the 527 singles that charted on Billboard Magazine's Hot 100 chart in 1976. An initial pass through that list narrowed it down to about 140 tunes.  The list was then narrowed to 95, then listening, ranking, and editing began.  The top 76 are presented here, in order.

  3. Looks like I'm late to the party but traffic on the Ten was a mess.

Now that Mark has taken the wrapper off his Top 10, I can fold SeƱor Dirk's picks into the mix. (He was so moved by our undertaking that he offered up his own Top 12 off the top off his head on the Twitter #DirkysDozen.)

There are six songs that appear on each of our four lists:
    A Fifth Of Beethoven
    Moonlight Feels Right
The Boys Are Back In Town
    Welcome Back
You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine

Our individual rankings of each of those songs was a wide spread and there were no unanimous agreements anywhere to be found. Four guys, four lists, 263 songs. Full rankings coming soon - hoping SRK drops a list of honorable mentions.
