These are my personal top 76 singles of those that peaked on the Billboard charts in 1976. The list is solely my opinion. Using Joel Whitburn's book, Pop Annual 1955-1999, I started with
the 527 singles that charted on Billboard Magazine's Hot 100 chart in
1976. An initial pass through
that list narrowed it down to about 140 tunes. The list was then
narrowed to 95, then listening,
ranking, and editing began. The top 76 are presented here, in order.
We're up to 264 different songs mentioned between us - Martin, me and you. (Still no input from Arturo.)
ReplyDeleteBy my count, we have 23 of those songs on all three of our ranked lists. Great minds and all.
Will be nice to see how your Top 10 plays out.
What's Dirk's list, chopped liver?
DeleteAgain, very interesting to see how our tastes line up (or in most cases do not). Looking forward to see how your Top 10 goes.
