Bracketology: Little River Band singles, Quarterfinals

You didn't have anything to do at work today anyway, so I've created this bracket of eight Little River Band singles from My Favorite Decade and we'll match them against each other, round by round, until a winner emerges. I hope you play along because I'm sure your bracket will turn out different than mine.  And if your favorite LRB song doesn't appear on the bracket, feel free to add it in place of another.

  • Quarterfinal #1: "The Other Guy" (#11 pop, #6 AC, 1982) vs. "Reminiscing" (#3 pop, #10 AC, 1978)
  • Quarterfinal #2: "Cool Change" (#10 pop, #8 AC, 1979) vs. "Lady"  (#10 pop, #7 AC, 1979)
  • Quarterfinal #3: "The Night Owls" (#6 pop, #33 AC, 1981) vs. "Take It Easy On Me" (#10 pop, #14 AC, 1982)
  • Quarterfinal #4: "Lonesome Loser" (#6 pop, #15 AC, 1979) vs. "Help Is On Its Way" (#14 pop, 1977)
Fill out your bracket(s) with your personal favorites and check back for the semifinal round.

  1. The way I hear it, there are two easy and two not so easy match-ups here. Easy being "Reminisicing" in the first bracket and "Take it Easy On Me" in the third bracket. Prior to this bracket, if you had asked me, "Cool Change" was my favorite LRB song, hands down. But now, after hearing it the mix with the other seven contenders, I'm not so sure.

After much deliberation and listening to the songs repeatedly on Spotify, I'm taking "Help Is On Its Way" in the fourth bracket, making "Lonesome Loser" a loser and I'm taking "Lady" in the second bracket signaling a change from "Cool Change".

    On to the Semis.
