NME's 100 Lost Albums

Click photo to see entire list

Described as "100 cult classics that deserve your love, picked by NME writers and your favourite bands," this list contains an understandably anglophilic list of albums.  Lots of influential punk/post-punk music here - waitaminute how did Chick Corea get on this list?!? Many interesting choices to be sure, but here are the 26 albums from the NME list that were released during the years 1976-85.

I'm only familiar with 40-50% of these groups/albums. I bought Beauty Stab and The Flat Earth upon release, got a copy of Real to Real Cacophony during my early '80s discovery of Simple Minds, and remember my buddy Jim playing Suicide albums for me. Not sure why Mirage made the list - it was #1 in the US and #5 in the UK. I've discovered the others in more recent times, mainly through compilations/box sets.  In any case, I'm still unfamiliar with most of the albums, so there's a lot of exploring to do.  Will proceed chronologically (as I am wont to do).  Stay tuned.
