Bracketology: Duran Duran singles, Quarterfinals

Trying something new on the blog today. I've created this bracket of eight Duran Duran singles from My Favorite Decade and we'll match them against each other, round by round, until a winner emerges. I hope you play along because I'm sure your bracket will turn out different than mine.  And if your favorite DD song doesn't appear on the bracket, feel free to add it in place of another.

  • Quarterfinal #1: "New Moon on Monday" (#10, 1984) vs. "Girls on Film" (did not chart, 1981)
  • Quarterfinal #2: "Planet Earth"  (did not chart, 1981) vs. "Rio"  (#14, 1983)
  • Quarterfinal #3: "Hungry Like the Wolf" (#3, 1983) vs. "The Reflex" (#1, 1984)
  • Quarterfinal #4: "A View to a Kill" (#1, 1985) vs. "Is There Something I Should Know?" (#4, 1983)
Fill out your bracket(s) with your personal favorites and check back tomorrow for the semifinal round.

  1. New Moon on Monday, Rio, Hungry Like the Wolf, Is There Something I Should Know.

  2. Can't believe I forgot to DVR the "Selection Sunday" extravaganza... My bad!

#1: "Union Of The Snake" (in place of "New Moon On Monday")
    #2: "Rio"
    #3: "The Reflex"
#4: "Is There Something I Should Know?"

  3. Bringin' the bracket busters, the Cinderella squads and the one-and-dones...

#1 Come Undone defeated Save A Prayer in double overtime, preventing an all RIO Conference Semifinal
    #2 Rio
    #3 Hungry Like The Wolf
#4 Hold Back The Rain buried a three at the buzzer to send The Reflex packing
