Donna Summer's Billboard Chart Feat June 30, 1979
In the June 30, 1979 issue of Billboard, Donna Summer became the first female artist in chart history to have two hits in the top three spots of Billboard's Hot 100 at the same time:
She did it again later that year in the November 17 issue:
According to various sources, the release of "Dim All the Lights" caused a rift between Donna Summer and Casablanca label president Neil Bogart as Bogart had promised to wait a month longer before releasing "No More Tears" in order to allow "Dim All the Lights" to peak first.
