Wow, there is a _lot_ going on here. Most of it's unfamiliar, but there are a few rabbit holes for me to chase down. I know the tiniest bit about the Jags and Wreckless Eric from the Rhino DIY UK Pop disks. Probably have heard just one or two Jo Jo Zep/Falcons songs. I'd never listened to "Clouds" before, but that's a pretty good Chaka Khan jam. The sharpest pinprick, though, was the reference to Tonio K. Never grabbed any of his stuff, but I strongly remembered how Steve Simels went ga-ga over "Life in the Foodchain" in Stereo Review (he called it 'the greatest album ever recorded', mostly seriously?). Went and found a forum online that included the review... Thanks for posting this--very interesting!
