Car Wash (which I've yet to see), this is a sweet slow jam that I've loved since I first heard it on the AM radio back in '77. Dude wants to get next to a woman, but she spurns his advances. That doesn't keep a guy from tryin', though. The verse melody is okay, but man-oh-man that chorus is smooth soul goodness nonpareil. The third single released from the
Car Wash soundtrack, this song also reached #10 on the pop chart and #3 on the soul chart.
