Billboard Jazz Albums Chart - July 4, 1981

Jazz is often called America’s only original art form and our country's gift to the world. I'm not here to debate those claims, but rather to use Independence Day as an excuse to share Billboard's Jazz LPs chart from July 4, 1981.  To sample some of the music represented here, simply click on the album titles in the chart below.  It isn't my place to tell you what to do this weekend, but some of the funkier albums here go great by the pool (George Benson, Quincy Jones, Clark/Duke), while others are better heard after the fireworks when you're alone with your significant other (Earl Klugh, Grover Washington, Jr., David Sanborn).  Enjoy.
