Does this guy have all the #1 albums from 1976-85? (Update)

When I posed this question to myself in a post last month, I discovered I owned only 38 of 88 (43%) of albums that had reached the top spot during My Favorite Decade.  Then I went on a bit of a shopping spree, buying 10 CDs and picking up a used vinyl LP of the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack.  This week, the new CDs are getting the usual treatment over at The CD Project.

Let's revisit the numbers. The chart used was the Billboard 200.  If an album straddled the calendar year and was #1 in two consecutive years, it is included in both years' count.

19811114
19821026
1983614

With recent purchases, I'm now up to 49 of 88 (56%).  There's still work to be done. I can't imagine that I'll ever be at 100% (the Soft Rock Kid isn't a headbanger, so I really don't need a copy of Quiet Riot's Metal Health, for example).  However, I think somewhere between 75-80% would be respectable.

I'm looking forward to the "archive edition" of Wings At The Speed Of Sound (1976) which is scheduled to be released later this year.  Along those lines, since Prince recently regained control of his catalog, I'm also eagerly anticipating that the classic Purple Rain album (1984) will be re-released in a remastered deluxe version in time for the 30th anniversary of the album and movie.
