Does this guy have all the #1 albums from 1976-85?

As full-time music junkie and a part-time statistician, I confidently posed the above question to myself recently.  Unfortunately, the answer is: not even close.  Check the results below.   The chart used was the Billboard 200.  If an album straddled the calendar year and was #1 in two consecutive years, it is included in both years' count.

Year#1 albumsOwn on LPOwn on CD
19761122
1977722
1978925
19791113
19801211
19811112
19821026
1983613
1984514
19851422

Well, that's more than a little embarrassing, but it gives me something to work on.  Of the 88 number one albums during the decade, I am currently in possession of 38 (43%).  I'll never be at 100% because there are a one or two albums on the list that I'm simply not interested in, but now I've got an excuse to go buy more music (as if one is ever needed).

  1. So many questions... will have to wait.

Do Number One songs next and include 45s and digital files.
